Meet Ally

Hi, I’m Ally Rizol(she/her), a licensed clinical social worker and therapist passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and self-compassion.

I work with adults, college students, young professionals, healthcare workers, and LGBTQIA+ folks who are looking for support with anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, and depression. My goal is to offer a space that feels safe, affirming, and genuinely supportive—where you don’t have to filter who you are or what you're feeling.

Before becoming a full-time therapist, I worked as an inpatient social worker at the Mayo Clinic, then at Duke Health in outpatient oncology, and later in an employee assistance program (EAP). These roles deepened my understanding of how stress, anxiety, grief, and life transitions impact emotional well-being—and they continue to shape how I support clients today.

Outside of the therapy world, I enjoy baking, doing ballet, practicing yoga, reading, spending time with family, and being in nature.

I know reaching out for support can feel vulnerable—whether it’s your first time in therapy or you’re returning after a break. Wherever you are at in your journey, I’m here to meet you with warmth and without judgment.

My Approach

I believe therapy should be a space where you feel seen, heard, and accepted—just as you are. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity and respect. I aim to create a judgment-free space where you can explore what’s going on in your life at your own pace.

My work is rooted in evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also drawing from person-centered, strengths-based, and mindfulness approaches. That means we’ll look at the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, while also honoring your unique experiences, values, and inner strengths.

Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply want a space to sort things out, we’ll work together to help you build insight, self-compassion, and the tools you need to move forward.

Above all, I want therapy to feel like a place where you can just be yourself.
